My brother, my sister, you who are going through difficulties that give you the impression that the nations are gathered against you, allow me to bring you some Good News today! Today’s passage says this: “But now many nations are gathered against you. They say, “Let her be defiled, let our eyes gloat over Zion!” But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord; they do not understand his plan, that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor. “Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hooves of bronze, and you will break to pieces many nations.” You will devote their ill-gotten gains to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth”.
My friend, has money been telling you constantly that you will lack so much that you will end up defiling yourself and be lead to your own destruction? Have family, work or different problems been hitting you so badly that you have the feeling that they have come only to see you desecrated and give up? Is it a throbbing health issue that has made you physically exhausted or been telling you that you never be well again? My dear friend, today the Lord is telling you that whatever has come against you does not know His thoughts nor understand His plans for you (verse 12). Yes, remember this: there must have been the greatest fest ever in hell when Jesus was arrested and put on the cross… but Satan and his little demons who pushed people to accuse Jesus did not know God’s thoughts or plans… They did not know that the death of Jesus was actually their own defeat and a means for God to demonstrate His power and His sovereignty over all things and all life. That is the reason why the Lord is telling you this too: “Rise and thresh… for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hooves of bronze, and you will break to pieces many nations” (verse 13).
Yes, my friend, when God reveals the future, His purposes goes beyond satisfying our expectations or hopes. All He wants us to do is to change our present behaviour because of what we know about the future, and serve Him, no matter what the world may do or the circumstances may say. He also enables us to crush into pieces everything that comes against us… but, He expects us to be devoted to Him. Indeed, let’s be honest with ourselves my friends: how many people ask the Lord for a financial breakthrough, work, goods, health but when it is granted to them, they forget about Him or they start reasoning with the Word of God. Maybe that is the reason why some answers are delaying, because God blesses us, God restores us so that we can serve Him and fulfil His plans on earth. Here it is clearly written that He will empower us with iron horns and bronze hooves to trample the enemy (anything that comes against our finances, our work, our health, our family, etc.) to pieces so that we can present to the Lord the riches that this enemy had stolen (verse 13). How may truly do so? How many actually have that intention? But God knows and sees everything, including our secret thoughts! Are you ready to really present to the Lord what the enemy had stolen from you once delivered, restored or blessed? Maybe you should seriously ask yourself this question and consider your own motives when you present a request to God because the Bible tells us that sometimes we do not receive from God because of our wrong motives or because our requests are not fitting into God’s plan or are not consistent with the will of God.
