TODAY’S MEDITATION – “Do not worry about your life!” (Matthew 6:27)

Today’s verse says: “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” My brother, my sister, life is sometimes tough, so tough that we worry. Everyone has something that makes them worry, even secretly: some worry about what they are going to eat, others worry about how they are going to pay their bills… others worry because they are married but have no children, they have children but are not married… others worry because they are afraid their dreams will never come true! Yes… everyone worries for something. But what does the Lord tells us? Even if you worry, that cannot add an hour to your life, and above all your life is more important than the things you are worrying about. In other words, If you cannot change anything in your life, then submit it to the one who can. Your worries, your cries, your hopes become vain if you do not cast them onto the Lord, who can take care of them because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The Lord knows everything you worry about. Yet He is telling you “do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” (Matthew 6:25). My friend, today, as I celebrate another year the Lord has granted to my life by His grace, all I want to share with you is this thought: you are alive today: praise the Lord and glorify His mighty name for that instead of making the things you worry about to become your idols, because some people have passed away and never reached the age you are today and therefore can no longer do or accomplish anything on this earth, while God is still giving you the time to do what pleases and glorifies Him first, what has eternal value! Set your eyes on Christ, not on your worries. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
