This morning, I was shocked to read that a preacher is called ‘hateful’ for standing up against gay marriages. What shocked me more was the title: “This Hateful, Anti-Gay Preacher Get DESTROYED By 7-Year-Old Girl” because the girl stood silently before him with a rainbow flag.
My brother, my sister,we should not be lenient with things that contradict the word of God. The Bible says that God made a covenant with Noah using the rainbow as a sign: “Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.” (Genesis 9:14-17). Indeed, after the flood, God made a promise never to destroy Noah and all his descendants as well as “every living creature” and the earth again (Genesis 9:8-10)… Now, we also read that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because their main sin was consensual homosexuality (Genesis 19). So, we should therefore wonder why would the homosexuals would use the rainbow as their flag. The Bible teaches us to expose evil, and it is our responsibility as believers of the Most High and of Christ to stand up against such things that are a kind of provocation against what God Himself calls an abomination.
My friend, can anyone stand in the gap today? We do not wrestle against blood and flesh, but against the invisible that pushes the world to institute such abominations as the norm. People are clapping for homosexuality, while we, the sons and daughters of God have become complacent with it as if it is none of our busines. Our role is to stand up and plead with God for His forgiveness and mercy in front of such abominations, especially when His signs, His principles are misused by people in the world. The Lord is willing to see us stand up for His businesses: “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one” (Ezekiel 22:30). Yes, can we stand up in the gap and truly pray for the people in our governments who have been taking hateful and abominable measures that are against the Word of God? You and I can be that rare person God would now say: ‘I sought and I found someone who is willing to stand in the gap’, if we stopped focusing on ourselves and realised what we say when we pray: “Thy kingdom come on earth as in heaven! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
