Joy produces strength. And strength is needed to fight. You are called to “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12). The problem with today’s church is that many believers attend them while they are tired of fighting the good fight of faith. Now, my brother, my sister, if you feel like that, it is because you have lost your joy. My friend, maybe you are tired of fighting for your marriage: maybe you are sick and you have been sick for so long that you don’t remember what it’s like to be healthy; maybe you are tired looking for a job that seems unreachable, you are tired of financial problems. Yes, you possibly waged war against your unwanted circumstances. But things haven’t changed much, and you are now discouraged. My friend, let me remind you that the Word tells us this: “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). How often are you to rejoice? You know the answer, Always! Yes, the sickness is still there, the debts are still there, your marriage seems to be going adrift… yet and still, rejoice always! My friend, joy keeps you strong and enables you to draw from the wells of salvation. True that you may be facing sickness. Yet God has provided the well of “healing.” But only through joy can you draw from this well. So rejoice despite your sickness. You may be experiencing poverty. But through joy you can draw from the well named “prosperity.” You may be tormented with fear, worry and depression. However, you can draw the water called “sound mind”, through joy! Don’t be discouraged. The devil may be able to attack you (after all, he is the god of this age) but he has no power to steal your joy. Joy is a spiritual force inside your human spirit. Satan can touch your body, finances and family as the book of Job teaches us, but he cannot touch your spirit. Your spirit is off limits to the devil. And since he can’t touch your spirit, he cannot rob you of your joy. My friends, know that one of the strongest weapon to defeat Satan is joy: keep your joy and Satan will have to release your blessings. That’s why it is important for us to stick to the Word of God that will always help us to keep our joy full. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
