Walking the Christian life is something that has to be done actively, daily and with great sense of responsibility. My brother, my sister, many times the Bible tells us to be alert, watchful… awake. and we can see that the people who did great things in their lives were also who had an active relationship with the Lord. They did not only approach the Lord with a request list, but they also came with a listening ear, so much that He could talk to them. To Habakkuk He said “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that whoever reads it may run with it” (Habakkuk 2:2); to Jeremiah He said “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you”. My friend, if the Lord could instruct them it is because their spirits were awake and ready to listen to Him. Now, the problem with many believers is that they are still asleep: they go to church services including Bible studies, but they do not seek God’s revelation. My friend, your pastor or church leaders cannot live your Christian life for you. Their responsibility before the Lord is limited to keeping you focused on the main thing: the Word of God! It is their responsibility to preach the Word, to put the meat on the table and to make it applicable for your daily life. But it is your own responsibility to hear the Lord’s call to be awake and to have an appetite for Him. Today, my friend, reflect on yourself: how long do you spend praying every day? How much time to you devote yourself to the Lord on a 24 hour basis? How long to you stay silent before Him with a paper ready to write down what He could instruct you? If you don’t grow the appetite that will bring you to cherish your time alone with Him, it would be hard for you to also develop intimacy and a listening ear to hear from Him. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
