TODAY’S MEDITATION – Can you hear the broken heart of your loving Father who desperately wants to bless you? (Leviticus 26:3-4)

Nowadays, our societies are experiencing fast moral and spiritual decline as the barriers of decency have swept away so many ethical values and people have become so morally bankrupt. Today’s television and diverse media have widened no limit obscenity, sex saturated society, bribery and corruption, self-promotion, etc… But if such things were only seen in the world it would be less of a problem. My brother, my sister, the Bible says we, Christians, are no longer of this world (John 17:16) and we should not conform to this world (Romans 12:2). Yet it seems that instead of us bringing Jesus back to the world, we are bringing the world within the Body of Christ. My friend, make no mistake, there will be a price to be paid. No one gets away with violating God and His Word. There are rules for life which God has laid down, but too often they become merely a basis for negotiation or compromises. That is the reason why today’s church is so lukewarm and many believers are still lost while following Christ. Why? Because they are following Christ with wrong motives and they might have not yet heard about the true Gospel. Let’s me just remind you a few key verses: – “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24-26) – “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple (Luke 14:25-33). – “if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps” (1 Peter 2:20-23) – “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit” (Leviticus 26:3-4) My friend, do you see what all these passages have in common? The all start with IF…! Yes, IF only we could realise that the Lord calls us by our names, that we should be prayerful and seek His face continuously, and turn from the wicked ways that we have adopted from the world, He will heal us, restore us and establish us in His Sovereignty. IF only we could listen to Him, and obey His commands… yes, just imagine your mum or dad telling you every day: ‘my son, my daughter, if only you could obey me, all I have in store for you will be with you without delay. It is not me who does not want to give it to you, it is your way of living that is stopping you from receiving it from me!!! So many treasures are left unclaimed or not accessed just because we are far from doing what pleases the Lord! Can you imagine His broken heart, my friend, as He wants to pour us generously with His blessings. My friend, no matter what you are looking for in this life, trust the Lord and today, think about what decision you can make that is in keeping with His Word in order to see Him reverse the course of your life by putting things right back. God is so faithful!!! Test Him by following His commands. He is not a man to lie! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
