TODAY’S MEDITATION – “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days” (2 Timothy 3:1)

So sad, disgusting, horrifying. Days after days, the world’s news show us horror as terror is spreading more than ever. My brother, my sister, there is nothing new under the sun and this is clearly written in the Word of God. But what are you doing personally? Yes, the Bible says: “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). Cold like death! How many lives are being taken daily by people WHO SEEM TO HAVE NO HEART, BECAUSE THEIR HEART IS COLD WITH HATRED AND THE DESIRE TO KILL? We the Christians should understand that this is the time not to sleep, but to wake up, be watchful in prayer: “and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand” (Daniel 12:10).

My friend, we are not here to comment on the regular, continuous and horrifying scenes of killings going on around the world, because we do have insight… Jesus has allowed us to have insight. Obviously, the wicked don’t have understanding of what they are doing, that is why they are taking innocent lives. Now, what are we doing with the insight Christ has allowed us to have? Doesn’t the Body of Christ have enough power and authority to stand up against the progressing evil? Now, we understand why God says: ” And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land… but I found none” (Ezekiel 22:30).

Are the members of the Body of Christ meant to be focusing on prophecies, running after miracles and earthly well-being or bringing the Kingdom of Heaven on this defiled, corrupted and bloody earth? Let’s all reflect on what is going on in the world we are living, and have full knowledge of the fact that, with the Word of God, faith, love and the powerful name of Jesus, we have the greatest weapon to crush terrorism, the killing of innocent people by people who have no love or no fear of the living God who gives life. Before, it was planes, then cafes, now they are using cars… none of us is safe anywhere in this world anymore. Are we going to continue watching and commenting because it seems to happen only to others or people we don’t know?

My friend, I heard a call to action when reading this verse: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2) and I am sharing with you so that each of us meditates on how we can personally do something: love for others should urge us to pray for the Kingdom of God to come to see evil vanish, for it will vanish when time comes : “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
