Today’s Christians are more attracted to signs and wonders than being focused on the main purpose of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, and this is because the Body of Christ has diverted the gospel’s messages from its initial mission: spreading the Good News. When Peter was sent to Cornelius, the Bible says “While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message” (Acts 10:44). Do you know the words Peter was speaking to Cornelius and his family? He was telling them about Jesus (Acts 10:33-43)… they believed and the Spirit came on them! My brother, my sister, the Good News is what Jesus brought us at the cost of His life on the cross, for He came to reconcile man to God the Father and offer us eternal life. And this can happen only through His own principles which starts with BELIEVING in Him. It is the Word of God that saves, heals, restores, etc… as you believe in it (Psalm 107:20). And Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14). Now, the Bible says: ” And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well” (Mark 16:17-18). Unfortunately, many believers have not understood the true meaning of believing in Christ! They think believing in Christ is just simple saying He is the Lord, He will return soon, or just going to church… Believing in Christ is far deeper than any religious action, it is being ready to die for the truth of the Word as we stick to it, no matter what happens. Many say, they believe in Christ, yet they still believe the lies of the devil keeping them in sexual immorality! Many say they believe in Christ, yet they still doubt His promises or that He can truly heal them, so they keep their eyes more on their sick body rather than on the Lord’s Word. Many say they believe in Christ but are after money or personal ambitions rather than seeking His kingdom first, many say they believe in Christ but are not eager to see their soul prosper first… Believing in Christ starts by abandoning yourself to Him, so that in you and through you He can indeed perform signs and wonders. And trust that, this is available to anybody who truly believes, not only your pastor! The Bible says it: “these signs will accompany THOSE who believe.” My friend, do you believe in Christ according to His Word or do you believe in Christ in your own definition of the Word? When you believe in Christ according to His Word, signs and wonders shall follow you. Now, check your own Christian walk and say where you stand! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
