TODAY’S MEDITATION – “Be strong… now get to work, I am with you” (Haggai 2:4)

Today’s passage says this: ” 4 But now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty. 5 ‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’ 6 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

My brother, my sister, God is with you and He wants you to return to Him as the people of Judah did when they returned to worshipping God. You see, God had promised to bless their efforts and work, but for many years, they did their own thing. Yet and still God kept asking them to return to Him, to obey Him. In this passage, we see that God Himself, through His prophet Haggai, is encouraging His people to complete the Temple, this is to say, to do His work.

Yes, it is time for us to WORK! We must be people of prayer, lovers of bible study, and worshipers of the Living God. But eventually, we must get out and DO the work that God has prepared for us. My friend, the Lord wants to change the world through us, His ambassadors. He has already given you a job to in the Church, at your workplace, in your family. And today, He is telling you: “Be strong… now get to work, I am with you”. The work of God cannot be accomplished without God. There is nothing you should be scared of or worry about in what God has called you to do, for He has also already equipped you. No more delay, the time has come for you to take courage and get going because God is with you. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
