TODAY’S MEDITATION – As you celebrate the New Year… remember what the Lord says (Exodus 12:2, 14)

This festive time is going to be celebrated in the whole world, but many unbelievers do not know that it was instituted by God asking His people to celebrate the first day of the new year (Exodus 40:2). My brother, my sister, when God instituted the first day of the new year for His people, He told them to build a Tabernacle which represented God’s home on earth. The Lord filled this place with His glory due to the overpowering sense of His presence. The same, later, when Solomon built a Temple that replaced the Tabernacle as the main place of worship, God also filled it with His glory (2 Chronicles 5:13-14). But when Israel turned away from God, His glory and presence departed from the Temple too, and it was destroyed by invading armies (2 Kings 25). My friend, God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. You see, God’s glory returned on earth when Jesus Christ came. And when Jesus was crucified, God’s glory left the Temple once again, now to be replaced after Jesus rose from the dead by a new temple, the body of believers. Because this time, God did not need a physical building for His temple. Therefore, my friend, as you are the temple of God, ensure you celebrate the New Year with thanksgiving in remembrance of how He has set you free, kept you, protected you, etc… you and your loved ones. MAY GOD BLESS YOU THROUGHOUT 2014 and MAY THIS WORD BE ACCOMPLISHED IN YOUR LIFE IN JESUS’ NAME: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honour me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise” (Isaiah 43:19-21). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
