TODAY’S MEDITATION – Are you well positioned to receive God’s power? (Acts 2)

The day of Pentecost enables believers to enjoy the gift of faith by which you and I can know that the birth, the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ are for us! Indeed, my brother, my sister, Jesus was not finished when He rose from the dead and ascended to be glorified. He had made a straightforward promise to His disciples in His last words: ” But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). And He came back to fulfill His promise on the day of Pentecost. My friend, if you have repented of your sin and put our trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, so you are a candidate to the promised power of God, so for you to receive it, you need to have the right posture: “They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers”(Acts 1:14). Yes, the Bible says: “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place” (Acts 2:1). Yes, the Lord works powerfully when we are united, and today, to those who believe they can walk their christian life without going to church, let this Word recall you that there is no substitute to Christian community. Truly, we do not see the power of God at work anymore as we should because our churches neglect the biblical truth of church unity and togetherness, of bringing people to be open to receive the fullness of the power of God’s Spirit. Today, let’s learn from the Word that tells us that we cannot go it alone in the Christian life: we need your brothers and sisters; we need to remain in the spirit of prayer (alone and with the others); we need to be receptive to God’s teachings through a regular reading of the Word while waiting expectantly for the Lord to act in our lives. My friend, let me tell you that if you are not in this kind of posture you will find other postures that will reduce the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life. Yes, on the day of Pentecost, the living Lord empowers us and His church to live to His glory and to do His work until He comes again. So, position yourself again to be empowered or renewed today. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [retweet] [facebook]
