TODAY’S MEDITATION – Are you walking the right direction? (Luke 24:13-34)

In these verses, we read that two followers were returning to Emmaus and were actually more focused on their disappointments and own problems, so much that when Jesus appeared to them, walking besides them, they did not recognize Him. My brother, my sister, in fact their main problem is that they were walking the wrong direction, away from Jerusalem where everything was actually taking place. You see, that is what happens to us when we keep ourselves away from the fellowship of believers. Yes we are likely to to miss Jesus and withdraw from the strength found in other believers when we become preoccupied with our dashed hopes and frustrated plans. My friends, these two men walked miles and miles with the Lord, and all they did was explaining Him their sadness and confusion. But Jesus sent them back to the Scriptures (verses 25-27), for that’s where the truth, the wisdom and the knowledge lies. And Indeed, by doing so, Jesus revealed Himself to these two men, who ended up returning to Jerusalem to tell the others the good news that Jesus is alive! My friend, you need to experience the living Lord to be able to tell about Him, but this will never happen if you are walking the wrong way, away from reading the Word of God, away from fellowshipping with fellow believers, away from prayer. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [retweet] [facebook]
