TODAY’S MEDITATION – Are you waiting for a miraculous sign from the Lord? (Matthew 16:1-4)

Today, many believers, even those who have been in the Lord for many years, tend to look for signs and wonders, especially when things do not go well in their lives. My brother, my sister, never forget that being in Christ is a life of faith, which includes making sacrifices and believing that because our Lord is Sovereign, He is in control ov everything in our lives. You see, when you start looking for signs and wonders, you are denying His power over your life. Therefore, you are like these Pharisees and Sadducees who wanted signs for Jesus. And the Lord is answering you today: “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it” (verses 2-4). My friend, let me ask you a question today: do you really believe that Jesus cannot easily impress you with miraculous signs? The truth is that those who are looking for signs to believe would still not believe even if they saw those signs. The Jewish leaders who were asking for signs had seen Jesus healing, raising people from the dead, feeding thousands… and still they wanted Him to prove Himself. Same for you! If you are waiting for a sign to truly believe or commit yourself to the Lord, then you have not yet realised that it is a miracle even for you to be alive today while some people have died last night, it is a miracle for you to have a roof over your head while some people are homeless, it is a miracle for you to be healthy while some people are in a bed hospital right now. Don’t think that even if the Lord gives you want you desire to see, what you want to call a miracle, you will believe more. If you truly believe, step forward in faith and believe, then you will begin to see the miracles that God can do in your life as you acknowledge that His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9). Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [retweet] [facebook]
