TODAY’S MEDITATION – Are you positioned where the Lord can fight for you? (2 Chronicles 20:17)

Today’s verses says: “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you… Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.” In times of hardship, many people tend to feel stressed or frustrated as they are trying to manipulate their way out, rather than trusting in the Lord. My brother, my sister, today’s verse says: “take up your positions, stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you.” Has anyone asked you to roll up your sleeves to go and fight alone? No! Always remember that many times, the Lord did not let the Israelites to raise a hand, because He wanted them to know that He was their God, even in difficult times. And He has not changed: He wants you to realise the same truth today. Now, we need to be careful here: some difficulties we go through are a result of our own disobedience or rebellion to the Lord… Obviously, in such case, He will allow us to first realise the full consequences of our own deeds in order to teach us the price of rebellion because He is our Father. The Bible says: “Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined – and everyone undergoes discipline – then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all… No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it” (Hebrews 12:7-11). However, we need to realise that the Lord doesn’t want us living stressed, anxious, fearful… but He will fight against all our enemies (visible or invisible), and be by our side all through this life’s journey, as we walk with Him. Now, do you really believe that God loves you enough to fight for you? We see the Israelites struggled with that, so much that they always abandoned Him for other gods… What is your attitude today? In other words, are you positioned where the Lord can fight for you… that is, are you walking in obedience? This is the very question we all should ask ourselves before looking for the Lord to stand up for us, though we have the assurance that, by His grace and His unfailing love, He will rescue us. God has already given you victory through Jesus Christ and He wants fight for you today as you walk in His ways, walk in obedience and follow His will. So, my friend, what is happening to you mostly depends on your own decisions: walking in or walking out of the light of His Word. That’s why the Bible says we should not look for blames elsewhere. Yes, someone can trigger a situation, but what was your attitude towards the problem to begin with? t is your attitude that will determine the impact of the situation in your life either by giving the enemy a stronghold to play with you, your projects and your destiny, or by giving him a good faith slap as you resist him owing to your faith in the Almighty God and your strong belief in what the Cross really means for you. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
