It is common to hear believers saying they are looking for God’s guidance. In today’s verse, David is looking for the Lord’s guidance : “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.” My brother, my sister, know that the first step to receive God’s guidance is to WANT to be guided and to realise that His primary guidance system is in His Word! You see, let me give you an example: someone is faced to a situation that is forbidden by the Bible such adultery, and still asks God’s for guidance. God will not tell you something different than what He has already said in His Word. Sometimes people want to hear Him speaking to them with an audible voice while the Bible is His Word, just like what you pronounce with your own mouth is your own words. My friend, it is by reading the Bible that you can gain the wisdom to perceive God’s direction for your life. Most believers ask God for answers rather than directions? Why? Because God’s directions may be contrary to what they want to hear. So they want His answer to their problems or questions. Yet, when we are willing to seek God by learning from His Word and obeying His commands, then we will receive His specific guidance. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and just like He remained silent with His rebellious children in the Old Testament, He can remain silent with us when we seek for His guidance without abiding to His principles. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
