TODAY’S MEDITATION – Are you looking for divine guidance? (Proverbs 29:18)

Very often we hear believers say they are looking for or are waiting for God’s direction. This gives the impression that they expect that the Lord will speak to them audibly or personally. My brother, my sister, know that “God’s direction” is already available to you in the words of God that were received by His prophets. In other words, when you are in search of divine inspiration on a topic, open your Bible first! Is it about marriage, open the Bible where the Lord gives us his guidance on this topic; is it about children, many parts deal with this topi; Is it about your business, prosperity, sickness, deliverance, healing, eating, working, doubt, fear… Anything you are going through is dealt with within the Word of God. You know, in the church today, many people call themselves prophets, which makes people dependent on them because they absolutely want to hear what God has revealed about their situation. Why not … as long as it is done according to the inspiration of the Spirit, because we are in the end times and we also know that many will come in the name of Jesus, but Jesus will rebuke many too (Matthew 21:21-23). Thus, in order to be 100% sure of the direction you have received, check it out in the Word of God… or just kneel down and pray and/or fast and above all read the Word of God, my friend. Our Lord has ears and a mouth. He will talk to you clearly through His Word. With His Word, there is no interference, no intermediary… His guidance will be authentic. Now, the problem is that, when He gives you guidance that does not match your expectations or what you really want to hear, what do you do? Perhaps you want something, but the Lord tells you “no” through His Word, because it could be against His Word. Do you continue on your way or do you accept to wait for more advice or direction from Him? Today’s verse says “Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.” Yes, know that whenever you reject or decide to ignore the instructions of the Lord, sin will run rampant around you. And, what good is it to have or know the Word of God if we do not put it into practice? Similarly, what good is it for you to ask God for direction if you’re not willing to follow it? Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
