TODAY’S MEDITATION – Always prepare your heart to receive the Word (Job 11:13)

Imagine that you have a little garden. The very same day, you decide to plant the exact same tomato seeds around it, in three different locations. After some times, the results are visible: in one place, you find giant tomatoes. In another, you find small tomatoes. And in the third spot, you find nothing. What happened, my brother, my sister? Where the seeds so much different? Certainly not! But something was different: the soil that received the seed. It is the same with our spiritual life and growth. Do you always prepare your heart to receive the seed that will be planted in you during the church service, on Sunday or anytime the Word is being taught to you? Yes, your heart has to be prepared for the Word of God, or you will receive nothing that can change your life. Even, just the way you arrive to church (late/on time; angry/happy, whispering/trusting, etc…) can make your heart receptive or not to the Living Word that transforms. You see, you may have been looking for deliverance for years. Let me tell you this truth: all pastors of the world could pray for your deliverance, but if your heart is not prepared for that deliverance, you will never be delivered! How many times did Jesus tell people that their faith has delivered them? It is the same with us today! We need to know that any pastor in this world has the capacity to deliver you, but the Lord Jesus is the one who delivers and He wants you to have faith in Him, so that He can deliver you from all bondages and give you life abundantly. Today, if you have been looking for deliverance, then learn to prepare yourself for it. The same, the Bible says, when we do not prepare our heart, we may fall in sin: “He did evil because he had not set his heart on seeking the Lord” (2 Chronicles 12:14). My friend, the word “prepare” means “to establish, fix, prepare, or apply.” It conveys the idea of deliberate effort over a prolonged period of time. So, let’s all keep in mind that it is the way we prepare our hearts daily to seek the Lord, to hear from Him through His Word that determines our day and our way of living. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [retweet] [facebook]
