TODAY’S MEDITATION – What testimony are you expecting from Jesus? (John 3:31-35)

When we read the Word of God, we hear about the testimony of Jesus, which is confirmed by many people who walked with Him or came across Him or were revealed the truth about the Messiah. And this testimony is trustworthy because Jesus had indeed come from heaven and was speaking of what He had seen there. My brother, my sister, today’s verse says: “the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony” (verses 31-32). Yes, Jesus’ words were the very words of God and by making us coheir of the Kingdom of God, our words should be the very words of God too! Yet, Yet despite the fact that the Bible tells us that we are no longer of this world when we accept Christ (John 15:19), many among us have not really realised this truth “Set their mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth” (Colossians 3:1-2).

My friend, Jesus invites us to accept and live forever with Him. And when we truly believe what He says, that He is the Son of God and God Himself, we can understand the full scope of what it is like to be closer to Him. Unfortunately, you will never know someone while looking at that person from outside (the world) or from the testimony of others. And today realise that the testimony of Jesus is trustworthy because what He says that’s what He does and what He does is what He says.

What is your testimony of Jesus Christ? When He asks you to do something, do you trust him? Do you believe He can do what He has promised? My friend, your testimony of Jesus, as well as your spiritual life depend on your answer to one question: Who is Jesus Christ to you? Unfortunately, many believers see Jesus as Santa Claus who has many things in his hood: marriage, healing, deliverance, restoration, financial breakthrough and he releases all this when we behave well. No! Above everything else, Jesus Christ came to save us from the bondage of sin and to offer us eternal life with Him. This is what should be your testimony! Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
