TODAY’S MEDITATION – Why are the children of God still perishing? (Acts 7:51-53)

STUBBORNNESS! Today’s verse says: “You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him—you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.” My brother, my sister, the sad truth about today’s Christianity is that many people attend our churches while they are still heathen at heart and deaf to the truth, and therefore they resist the Holy Spirit. That’s the reason why we do not see the Spirit of God reviving, renewing, healing, transforming people the way it should be. Yes, many are still emotionally, spiritually, physically sick while their healing has been released long ago by our living Lord. It is just that they have not received it yet. The Lord is willing to act powerfully in our individual lives, but He does not act where there is disorder, confusion, distraction, doubt, disobedience, discouragement… all those things that show that we have not yet submitted or trusted Him fully! And the problem is that when people don’t have answers to their problems, they tend to blame the church or the pastors. Let me recall you this. The Bible says: “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?” (Romans 14:4). In other words, servants of God are not there to serve you for you, they are serving you for Christ’s sake! My friends, let’s all of us bear in mind that true converted children of God will not let anything or anyone distract them from their purpose as regards their worshiping of the Lord, just because they have become teachable (no longer stiff-necked) and humble enough to do what pleases the Lord above their own desires. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [facebook] [retweet]
