TODAY’S MEDITATION – There is joy in forgiveness (Psalm 32)

My brother, my sister, do you know that we who live on the other side of the cross of Jesus should rejoice even more because we understand more about God’s plan for our redemption? It is sad to know that some believers of Christ are still trying to hide some sins to God while He has shown us that He is willing to forgive because His judgement on sin was satisfied by Christ’s death on the cross.

Here, David is expressing the joy of forgiveness: God had indeed forgiven him for the sins he had committed against Bathsheba and Uriah (2 Samuel 11 and 12). Yes, my friend, God wants to forgive us because forgiveness is part of His loving nature. He announced this truth to Moses (Exodus 34:6-7), revealed it to David and dramatically demonstrated it to the world through Jesus Christ. My friend, God’s forgiveness has many aspects: He forgives disobedience, puts sin out of sight and clears our record of guilt. That is the reason why the Bible tells us that “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered” (Romans 4:7)… which means that we can have the joyous experience of forgiveness only through faith in Christ because only His blood can wash us from our iniquities, from our past in order to give us hope and a future. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
