In this passage, Peter is recalling us that the Old Testament prophecies concerning Jesus had been entirely fulfilled in Him because Jesus was the Messiah and only the risen Christ can change our lives. My brother, my sister, who do you believe in?
You see today, some believers are still wearing Christ on the cross and they truly believe in Christ on the cross… However, only the part of Jesus that can be related to our sinful nature was on the cross, that is why Hewas abandoned by His Holy Father and He even had to go through death. Therefore, Christ on the cross is of no help… it is the risen Christ who has changed our fate, our lives and our nature… reconciling us with God the Father and giving us the grace to be able to receive God’s Spirit. My friend, even Moses yearned for the Lord to put His Spirit upon everyone once (Numbers 11:29). But at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was released throughout the entire world, to men, women, slaves, Jews, Gentiles… Now, everyone can receive the Spirit of God promised by Jesus: “But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you” (John 16:7). My friends, no matter where you are today in your walk with the Lord, don’t forget that His promise was fulfilled for you and His Spirit dwells in you, so allow Him to walk His will in you and through. Yes, you are so precious for God that His Holy Spirit dwells in you… what a gift! what a privilege… Let The Spirit lead your steps for the Lord to use you effectively to serve Him.
