Today it is not uncommon to hear believers and even preachers preach that believers will not be judged in the end. My brother, my sister, Jesus clearly says that we will be judged if and when we judge another person! It is a serious topic that must be addressed in the Body of Christ. The Bible says: “For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you” (Matthew 7:2). You see, the Lord will treat each of us the way we treat others.
My friend, sin is serious for God and it should be the same for us, His children. As the return of the Lord draws near, the world is getting darker and darker. People sin freely and voluntarily without taking into account the fact that a day of judgment will soon fall upon them. Let me remind you that “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). Yes, God is loving, good and generous, but He is also holy and just. He is the great judge of the universe and is angered by injustice every day (Psalm 7:11). However, in the midst of the coming judgment, “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love ” (Psalm 103: 8). My friend, God loves the people of the world so much that He sent Jesus to die on a cross for them and to take upon Him all the anger reserved for the sinner. God gives sinners the warning of what is to come and a chance to prevent it from happening. When a person receives Jesus into their heart, He becomes their Advocate and in turn the great Judge declares them not guilty of their sin. Therefore, as we are no longer judged for our sins, we should also be careful not to judge others for their sins. There is only one judge in the universe, and it is neither you nor me: ” And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice” (Ps. 50: 6).
Jesus tells us clearly: ” Do not judge, or you too will be judged” (Matthew 7: 1). Indeed, almost all believers know that they are not supposed to judge another person and, at the same time, no one will admit that he does. The truth is that people judge others all the time, but they call it something else. They deny the fact that they are both judge and jury when it comes to the actions of other people. Jesus is telling us all not to do this, so that we will not be judged too.
My friend, if you do not want to be judged by God on the last day, there are two things you must do: stop judging others and start judging yourself. If you are filled with pride and not willing to humble yourself before God and repent, you will not be able to judge yourself. It takes humility to admit that you missed the mark and did something wrong. If you walk in pride, the devil cannot yield to what you command him because you are yielding to him. You must humble yourself before God to resist the devil; Besides, ” God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (1 Peter 5:5-6). When you humble yourself before the Lord you will be willing to repent and this is what it means to judge yourself. It is God’s will for your life, because God does not want anyone to perish, but all come to repentance (2 Peter 3: 9).
My friend, when you are able to judge yourself, this will help stop the devil from gaining access to your life. This will allow you to come boldly before the throne of grace and to walk boldly in the victory of Jesus. Yes, humility allows you to live a rich and full life and, more importantly, it clears blockages and allows you to fulfil your destiny on earth because God gives favour to the humble.
